Challenging the prevailing cultural pessimism influenced by current social and political trends, the exhibition titled "finale" strives to immortalize free art in its current form. Visual artist Elisabeth Kraus and the sound art duo Hauptmeier | Recker embark on a seemingly futile endeavor, subjecting their previous works to diverse processes of reproduction, archiving, and preservation. Within an immersive audio-visual room installation, the trio orchestrates a museum of their own creation—a surreal archive, a time capsule, existing in a realm between preserved archive material and a dynamic living culture. The culmination of their creative journey involves meticulous organization, compression, and preservation. Devoid of context yet securely packaged for eternity, the dreams encapsulated within the archive gradually wane.
