"SIT IN" is a compilation of sketch-like objects that originated during the one-month residency at Horner Eck. The work engages in considerations about coexistence, change, and preservation. Metaphorically, the piece delves into the act of "sitting" with its multifaceted dimensions. Sitting is explored as a form of pause, community, loneliness, dialogue, waiting, and contemplation—or even as an act of protest. The object of the chair is granted an active role and is treated as an endangered, almost extinct species that deserves protection. The scope of these considerations is the interior of Horner Eck, specifically the seating arrangements within the pub. The imprints of those who have sat become collective, intricate temporal documents and a part of the cultural memory. The artist subjects the chairs to various unconventional processes of reproduction, archiving, and preservation. The traces on the surfaces are reproduced like a kind of second larval skin, capturing shadows. The pub transforms into a ironicized archive, fan space, and remains a site of current events as a time capsule—a state between archival material and living culture.
